    Wow great video and garden! started on anything for this year yet? i dont know if you use any fertilizer but if you dont i HIGHLY recommend miracle gro tomato plant food. its not just for tomatoes either..i use it on my peppers and they love it..just mix it in with a watering can and its good to go.

    One of the best Vids I’ve seen. I did the multi-use buckets and closet pole hangars. You also showed a lot of plants I’m growing for the first time. It’s pretty tedious to find a pic of some plants. First year all container, this vid will help. 5 stars and Favorited . I should also mention it looks phat!

    @47Indigo47

    Yes and no… if in open ground and some fruit is left to fall to the ground… then those could grow new plants.

    If you want to keep growing the same plants you could try taking cuttings and use those to start new plants. But if they grow or not depends on the climate in your area and the type of plants.

    If you start plants from seed then you have not much of an expense really as it is.

  11. swhisperingdove - July 25th, 2010 at 2:26 am

    Wow your garden looks great. The containers that you have on the ground. Did you put holes in the bottom of the buckets? I noticed you had them sitting on bricks? Thanks

    grow watermelons in ground on a 6inch rise(to help with their enourmous root system and for drainage issues) let them grow up a fence or something and when they produce melons create a hanging basket and attach to said fence (this helps with those pesky ants and it looks pretty cool)

    looks good ! I bet if you added about 3 inches of mulch it would take off!
    I have to wonder about the plants in buckets tho, do you realise how large they get and the size required for them?
    regardless you have a very meticulous garden !

    Thanks for your idea, it worked great. Sorry that I couldn’t remember you name on the video though. Oh and thanks for the comment on my trellis and twine. I had to do something so I kind of just winged it so to speak. Take care.

    Glad to see the weight idea for your plant was successful! Nothing wrong with a little gentle persuasion.

    I like your trellis for the cucumbers and the twine for your beans. Keep up the good gardening. Keep the posts coming.
