@joshagarrado After a ‘perennial screamer’ gets spotted by the police the cop who finds the plant will usually complain, give it a kick, and wander back to work. If a plant is kicked enough it turns back into a seed and you’ll have to go back and replant it.

0:45, what happens next? Does the plant die in the line of duty?

Thanks Richard! Your work has been a big inspiration to us!

We definitely want to encourage players to get out and plant in the real
world after they play. We’re planning to include some how to guides and links to guerrilla gardening resources as extras inside the game.

Thanks! Happy you made the connection.

Scott Moyle who did the narration in Cephalopods is voicing the cops in
the current build of Guerrilla Gardening. They don’t say much in this trailer but they’re pretty chatty in the game.

@spookysquidgames I had no idea you were the guys behind “Night of the Cephalopods”! I played it a few months ago and I found that ‘dynamic narration’ pretty immersive! Well done! :D

Love it. It’s been great watching this game take shape over the last couple of years. I think this could even get more people doing it in the real world once they’ve had a go in the comfort of their home.

  10. spookysquidgames - March 1st, 2010 at 10:25 am

Thanks! Judging by the response we’ve had to the video we think it’s going to do alright ;)

  11. spookysquidgames - March 1st, 2010 at 10:25 am

Thank you! We’ll keep on keeping on.

  12. spookysquidgames - March 1st, 2010 at 10:25 am

Thanks! We’ll be showing more art and gameplay as the project progresses.

  13. spookysquidgames - March 1st, 2010 at 10:25 am

Thanks – glad you liked it! I’ll have to thank Zub for sending people to check it out.

The title is a bit of a double edged sword, I’ve found it works well if you already know about the street art movement it’s named for… if not, then it works not so much. Glad the trailer turned you into a convert :)

  15. spookysquidgames - March 1st, 2010 at 10:25 am

Thanks! Most the the trailer is prototype footage, if we pull off what we’re planning, it should be twice as good as the trailer ;)

Nope didn’t die, we were actually working on it more then ever trying to crunch for a grant milestone. We’ll be starting up the development videos again after GDC and PAX East.

Brilliant trailer. If the game is half as good as what’s promised, I’m sure I’ll love it.

  21. TheInkTank - March 1st, 2010 at 10:25 am

Wow, a really fun looking game with an innovative concept. Good luck with it. Hope it does well. =)

I must admit I thought this was a stupid idea when I read the title of the game but the trailer has changed my mind. This looks awesome. I cannot wait to see further development of this game.

Jim Zubkavich sent me a link here. I have to say, this is a pretty creative idea for a game! I love the puzzle-solving elements in this. :D
